Learning Objectives 

You would like to understand the factors that determine sustainability in agricultural production systems in view of the prevailing social, economic and ecological environment and learn to make good and well-informed decisions to develop sustainable agricultural activities under existing climatic and market conditions.

  • Sustainable management of natural resources, soil, water and biodiversity; labour conditions and socio-economic requirements
  • Good governance in the context of sustainable agriculture and plant protection
  • Animal husbandry, manure and fodder-production
  • Energy-efficient agricultural production

Training approach

  • 13 core and 8 additional modules with PowerPoint presentations and exercises
  • A trainer’s guide and MOSA reader with proposals for additional readings, films and points for discussion and reflection
  • Usually an excursion or field visit
