PR and communication is essential element for project visibility and outreach.  Good communication strategy and right PR will enable the team and organization to convey the right key message the project want to deliver to different stakeholders, create mutual understanding and contribute to goal achievement. Besides supporting the management for development result, PR and communication is important for visibility of the cooperation effort, which is also a required element of project component for many donors, for example the EU. 

Objectives and Content: 

The participants are acquainted with the basics of communication for GIZ projects and programmes.

Course content:

  • Orientation and requirements for particular areas of communication (corporate design, social media, press and public relations)
  • Developing communication strategies
  • Communicating impacts
  • Writing clearly and comprehensibly
  • Insights in what Corporate Communications offers

Who should attend this training:

This course is intended for GIZ staff only. It is designed  Communicator Officer in projects and programmes (although they often don't have the official title as "Communication Officer" who is responsible for communication tasks in a project like creating leaflets, project websites for instance.  

Duration & Time:   2.5 days

  • 1st and 2nd day: 9:00 - 17:00
  • 3rd day: 9:00 - 13:00
